Journal of Cole's Earthquake Experience

Until Cole edits this post, my version of what happened to Cole when the Earthquake hit on 3/11 will have to do. Cole was at Narita Airport in Tokyo with a group of Doctors and Techs that were heading to Indonesia for a Humanitarian Mission. Right before they began to board, the earthquake struck. In Tokyo, they felt a 6.0 which was slightly stronger than what we felt in Misawa. Cole was really nervous about us cause it wasn't for several hours later that he got word through our friend that we were o.k., since all cell phones went dead for a few days right after the earthquake. I actually didn't get to hear Cole's voice for two days after the quake. Even though it was a scary day for Cole, he always find humor in every situation. Above photo: After hours of waiting around the airport, the Japanese brought around a bowl and told everyone they could only have one piece of candy. Cole thought this was humorous since they were starving to death and he was only allowed 1 piece.
They had to spend the night at the airport the first night.

They forced everyone out onto the tarmac after the earthquake struck. After a few hours, they then brought out couches for people to sit. Below is a picture taken right after the earthquake hit. Cole said debris was falling from the ceiling all around them. Scary.
