Chase's 1st Time at the Theater & 3 Year Old Stats

So Cole and Chase went to see Cars 2 for Chase's 1st Movie Theater Experience. Cole said Chase was enjoying his popcorn and drink with the previews, but then when they did the loud surround sound preview he wasn't as thrilled-below. Cole said overrall he did pretty good although several times he wanted mommy and to go home when their were some more violent scenes. I guess Cars 2 is a lot rougher and tougher than Cars. And Chase does not like rough and tough, he is a sweetheart. But he made it all the way through his first show, and then came home and played with his lightning mcqueen cars set.

So this week has been super hot and humid here in Misawa. Even though we have air conditioning we were still feeling the heat, although I should not complain because everyone that lives on base has no a.c. and are miserable. But we found Chase this past week asleep curled up to his fan-I guess he was really hot.
My sweet, sweet boys. Today I looked over and Chase was one by one handing Bryce his magnetic puzzle pieces. Bryce was taking it off the pole and then Chase would get another for him. This past week Bryce has mastered "ma, ma, ma" and today he started clapping. He has one tooth that is out, and I am sure he is working on more cause he has had a rougher week. But everyone can't get over what a happy baby he is, cause he is all smiles when we are out and about. He just grabs everyone's attention with his smile.
Chase had his 3 year old well visit today. He was super shy and did not say one word at the doctors office until we left. But Chase is healthy and above average in his height and weight, so dad is happy.
Height - 39inches(85th%)
Weight - 35 lbs.(75th%)

Chase Turns 3! Kachow!!!

It has been a fun filled week at our place. Chase turned 3 this past Monday and we celebrated his birthday twice(it seems to be a tradition in our family to celebrate one's birthday on more than one day). The night of his birthday we had the Roths and Leese and Rei's family join us for pizza and ice cream cake. We had a great time and Chase loves Leese and Rei who live next door, they seem to play together really well even though they are 7 and 5.
Rei is laughing at Chase and Leese cause we couldn't get them to stop blowing their party horns to get a picture.

I don't think Chase has eaten cake since his last birthday, but he kept telling people that he wanted cake for his birthday. So he was a happy little guy when he finally got to eat his ice cream birthday cake.
Chase is the best. He seems like he is growing up fast now that he has turned 3, and he says more and more each day. Some funny Chase sayings right now are "2 more minutes"(whenever I want to get him to stop), "play trains and cars"(says this line about 50 times a day), "Chase wins"(he loves to race and win). Chase is still so sweet and kind. He always asking me if I am o.k., and always says sorry, please, thank you. He just melts your heart with his sweet little voice. It has been a wonderful 3 years, Cole and I enjoy every second with Chase, well almost every second.
This is a typical late afternoon scene at my place. Chase is playing in the street with the neighbor kids while Bryce is hanging out on the blanket watching.

It has felt like Christmas at our house with all the awesome presents Chase received from family and friends. He loves it all.

Party number 2. Marie, Helen, and Mark came over to play and celebrate Chase's birthday. It turned out great. The kids colored Lightening Mcqueen drawings and added stickers, glitter, and stamps(got to keep their attention), played a Cars memory game(big hit), and hot potato with a stuffed Lightening McQueen his Aunt Kara got them. The kids all had a great time with out any tears, and Chase loved that he got to blow out candles and eat ice cream cake again.

Boating and Bre's 31st Birthday Weekend

Last Saturday, we met some of our friends at the base beach for a barbecue, ladder ball, and boating. We had a great time, although the boat ride ended up being a disaster. The boys liked it when we were just slowly cruising by the dock, but the noise and the wind did not go over well with my boys. Hopefully in a few years they will love boating as much as I do.

So our friend Josh told me that he would go slow and that Cole and Chase would not get wet since the water was really cold. He did go slow, but somehow the tube dipped and soaked Chase after about 5 seconds. Poor guy, he was not a fan, but he was a good sport.

After we went to the beach, Cole and I took the boys home and put them to bed with a sitter. We then snuck out and went over to Krystal and Josh's for a game of settlers and to try out the Strawberry, Angel Food Cake trifle Cole made me for my 31st(yikes!) birthday. It was wonderful, and of course Cole won that night. Luckily, he made up for it on my birthday by surprising me with some beautiful diamond earrings and making my favorite Sunday Salmon Meal. Thank you Sweetie for an awesome birthday, you are the best.
